Starting from the village of Shqmeri, known for its dramatic limestone cliffs and traditional mountain cuisine, the trail ascends toward the historic Church of Khikhata — a revered hilltop sanctuary offering sweeping panoramic views across forested valleys and distant Caucasus peaks. The route then continues toward Mravaldzali, a peaceful village famed for its breathtaking views and the 11th Century St. George's Church.

Blending cultural heritage with alpine scenery, the trail passes through dense forests, open meadows, and scenic ridgelines, revealing the harmonious relationship between Racha’s communities and their mountainous environment. Best explored from late spring to early autumn, this moderate hike offers visitors a rewarding combination of spiritual landmarks, living traditions, and restorative nature, an immersive journey into the authentic highland character of western Georgia.
